The Engineering Advanced Technologies Departement is devoted to the
development and assessment of novel techniques and applications.
New materials, new techniques, and new ways of performing NDT are investigated inside the Engineering AT Department.
From the delivery of alternative solutions to the industrialization of
new specific product, the Engineering AT Department offers a wide range
of services and enables you to be prepared for the near future NDT
challenges.
Activities :
- Engineering Evaluation New NDT Techniques
Engineering for the evaluation an development in maintenance and
manufacturing of new NDT techniques for new materials or configuration,
in particular for composite materials
To develop, evaluate and disseminate new NDT techniques applied to new
materials, new parts or new structures. This work can require classical
NDT techniques applied in a new way, emerging NDT techniques or brand
new concept of detection. It is including as well all the NDT
inspections of prototype parts.
- Products
Engineering for the development of innovative solution for aircraft inspection in assembly lines and in service.
To answer to specific needs of the final assembly line to improve the
overall quality process, by developing innovative tool helping the
quality controllers to better inspect the structures and report the
damages.
ScratchView

Moireview |
|
 |
 |
| The optical system for dent analysis |
| 3D mapping and measurement apparatus |
| Dent, Impact, Rivet pull-in, trimming… |
-The MoireView is directly used on-site |
-Counting
isolines from the moiré box, the operator in charge of Aircraft
inspection visually determines the depth and the width. |
-Then the data is processed on a PC which generates 3D mapping, 2D profiles… and creates a formal report. |
-Autonomous, wireless and very light, It can be used on most of the surfaces used in aeronautics.
|
| Ultis
The ultrasonic
analysis software
An Innovative software package
dedicated to non destructive testing, ultrasonic data analysis and automatic
diagnosis.
- It is 100% composite
oriented
- It is compatible with
various inspection systems and contributes to a full harmonization of your
ultrasonic data analysis process
- It gives faster
diagnosis
- It is fully complient
with AIRBUS requirements
- It responds to
aerospace needs for cycle and cost reduction

Technical expertise in SHM implementation in test facilities.
To implement Structural Health Monitoring sensors onto the aircraft
structures to early detect damage occurring during the life of the
aircraft |
- Mechanical Testing Monitoring
Technical expertise for mechanical testing monitoring.
To propose a set of high technology tools to monitor the mechanical
testing of new structures, parts and material: whole field deformation
map measurement by image stereo-correlation, high speed camera
recordings of fracture events or impacts test…
- Digital Images Stereo-Correlation
Displays the global displacement and strain fields in X,Y,Z of the
critical areas of structure submitted to mechanical loads. This is the
ideal technique to explore the behaviour of inhomogeneous and
anisotropic materials like composite materials as well as metallics.
Main benefits :
| Whole field result map |
| Easy comparison with the FEM results calculated by the design offices. |
| The resulting datas can be retrieved in a dat file and loaded into any CAD software |
 |
|
High speed video recording
Mechanical “fast” events : fracture of structure under mechanical loads
– fast crack propagation – Impact analysis, harpoon test ...
- Main benefits :
Allows the fine analysis of fast mechanical events and to understand the behaviour of structures.

|
